Laboratory Technician - Qila Energy Newark Office

Job Description & Key Responsibilities

Supporting the Senior Laboratory Technician You will be responsible for the sampling of feedstock materials, ensuring that all laboratory testing is carried out to high standards of safety, quality and efficiency.

  • Liaising with operators to collect samples from plant;
  • General laboratory work; measuring samples and logging data;
  • Create and maintain feedstock records;
  • To be the main point of contact for external sampling, including arranging collections and deliveries;
  • Laboratory maintenance including equipment upkeep and general laboratory housekeeping duties;
  • General administration and data collection duties;
  • Other duties as required.


  • Newark, Nottinghamshire.


  •  £18,000 p/a, 25 days holiday + bank holidays. 

Key Skills

  • A-Level or higher qualifications in Science or Engineering based subjects;
  • Previous laboratory experience beneficial;
  • Practical experience of sample preparation and analysis using analytical instrumentation;
  • Ability to work on own initiative and self-manage;
  • Positive and proactive work ethic;
  • IT literate;
  • Full driving licence.

Job Type:

  • 6 month fixed-term contract with the possibility of being made into a permanent role.
